You Favorite Health Guru’s Magic Supplement Might Have a Pharmacy Label. Let’s Talk About It

Have you noticed incredible, life-changing weight loss from someone you know? Great, let's celebrate that! But here’s the key piece of information that often gets left out lately. Some people are utilizing weight loss “shots” while telling you it was their workout program or supplement.

The “shots” such as a semi-glutide (Ozempic), Tirzepatide (Monjouro) etc. are powerful game-changers (Tirzepatide was for me!) and I know some people out there who are using them along with supplements in their journey (like I am)…𝘉𝘜𝘛 𝘈𝘙𝘌𝘕’𝘛 𝘈𝘋𝘔𝘐𝘛𝘛𝘐𝘕𝘎 𝘛𝘖 𝘐𝘛!

I’ve had great success using Tirzepatide

I went from being a metabolic mess to almost perfect labs. I’ve also lost 40#, dropped four sizes and maintained my muslce mass along the way.

When I first starting taking Monjouro, I didn’t say anything until about a month in because I wanted to make sure the med worked for me without nasty side effects. While I was scared to share for fear of being judged, honesty and integrity is huge in my book. I knew I had to share HONESTLY what I was doing.

I too am using and promoting supplements and I do believe they have helped me NOT have the nasty side-effects and helped me maintain muscle while losing 40#. I believe they have also helped me maximize the fat loss in having such rapid results .

Here’s the thing: Supplements are tools. You still can’t eat like crap and expect to lose weight with supplements or even the shots!  I have been very open and honest that I also have been very thoughtful on making sure I am doing the things needed for success with the drug. They can boost energy, fill nutritional gaps, and help with side effects—but they are supporting the shot, not replacing it.

I had to replace my favorite Def Leppard Sweatshirt!

This was an XL and while it was a little baggy, I now have a size Small that I found on Poshmark!

Also when someone hides the shot component, they create impossible standards for those trying to achieve the same results with just their $40 supplements. Then what happens, they blame the supplement for not getting the same results and they get disappointed and quit using it anyway.

Lastly, being honest allows for a real conversation and we need to normalize the discussion around all tools used for health. Let's celebrate success, but let's be honest about it!

If someone you follow revealed they were using a drug, would you respect them more for their honesty? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Send me an email to mary@shestotallyawesome.com and I’ll share on the socials in the next few weeks.
